Our goal is to provide safe, reliable and clean spaces through high quality maintenance, operation, planning and renovation services for our 1,475-acre main campus. We accomplish this with our dedicated skilled staff who strive to provide excellent customer service and responsiveness.
Performs general maintenance, repairs, and construction work in exterior areas of campus including concrete, asphalt, brick, block, tile, stucco and other masonry work. Also repairs and replaces concrete benches, posts, and speed bumps. Installs bollards, sign posts, and other anchoring work. Installs non-skid stair treads and maintains outside fountains. Performs sandblasting, water blasting, steam cleaning, and other clean-up work. Provides excavation support to other trades and performs other exterior maintenance duties as required. Incumbent is required to communicate with academic building managers and coordinate work with other FM shops. Works effectively as a Team Member by using positive communication techniques, bringing talent to the team, and supporting teammates by fulfilling responsibilities, helping teammates when called upon, and contributing to the overall success of the team.

$41.61 - $41.61 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
Must possess a valid California driver license and participate in the DMV pull notice program.
Working knowledge of the use of power hand tools. Knowledge of the masonry trade to replace ceramic tile, build block and brick walls, including retaining walls. Ability to form, pour, and finish concrete. Ability to stucco walls. Ability to operate a concrete wet saw. Ability to operate a core drilling machine. Ability to operate a power washer. Ability to operate a cement mixer. Ability to operate a boom truck and a man lift. Ability to read blueprints and drawings
Preferred:
Ability to operate digging equipment; backhoes, trenchers, and front loaders. Prior knowledge working in an institutional or university setting. Possession of a Class B Operators License.
Special Conditions Required:
Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedule. Must be able and willing to wear a respirator and all required PPE. Must be willing to work weekends
